I have been trying to figure out this problem for several years.

Some of the aircraft I have downloaded have their engine running on start. Others have the engine stopped and you have to start it (ctrt-E).

Sometimes the engine is running at FULL SPEED on start.

I have been looking at both the CFG and AIR files to see how to control this situation.

But I have had no luck understanding this problem.

Does anyone else understand it?

It all depends on how you saved your default flight.  If the default flight was saved with the engine off, the engine will be off when you start flight sim.  If you change aircraft while in flight sim, the new aircraft will start doing what you were doing before changing.
