Texture Problem With Gmax

Postby matthewdev » Sun Mar 21, 2010 5:36 am

Hi guys, I did a quick search through the forum to see if this has been answered before but couldn't find anything, so hopefully I'm not repeating an old question!

When I am exporting my current model from Gmax, I place it into FSX and it displays like this:

The part I'm meaning is the windows on the building on the right which are displaying textures I didn't apply to it! :(

Did you apply any texture to the windows at all?

Are the windows separate objects in the Gmax scene?

They need to be, otherwise the texture applied to the parent object will affect the windows as well.

I finally managed to find a "workable" solution. I separated the offending files into a separate Gmax file and exported it as a separate object and it fixed it :) Not the most practical solution but it will do!

Hmmm, why not just detach them from the main object, remove the material (create a new one, apply it and then delete same material) and then create a window material?

The windows are separate objects from the main building and I tried replacing the texture, and it works only sometimes. However, often after that another object would then display incorrectly :(
