I just noticed that the logo lights (on the tail) don't work on the Default 737-800.

If theres anything I hate about Microsoft its their lack of precision on the Boeing panels. Notice that there is no NAV light toggle, the door alert lights don't work, the fuel pump switches don't work, and the overhead flap position indicator doesn't work [but the test button works, figure that out]. out of all that, at least the cabin pressurization gauge works. Thank god! :p

None of the default FSX planes have actual logo lights. The 737 tail logo is displayed when the environment becomes "night" and the b737_800_1_LM.dds file is displayed. This file also makes the cabin windows apprear illuminated.

I modified my b737_800_1_LM.dds to make the vestibule appear lighted when the door is open as well as properly "illuminate" the logo by performing a Multiply in my graphics editor for each carrier. That is, I don't have just one LM file but a unique one for each airline.

The logo switch in the 737 issues a command to turn on a type "9" light. Since there is no true logo light for this model, I use that switch to turn on the nav lights as seen below in my aircraft.cfg file modification:
light.0 = 9, -24.20, -56.60,

The changes you suggest look fine in your screen shots, but I am not familiar with how to edit a .dds file.

I edit DDS files with two free tools (there are probably more). One is called "DXTBmp Editor" and the other is a plugin that I use for Paint Shop Pro. DXTBmp is not a graphics editor, but instead an interface that passes images to an editor of your choice. I noticed that DXTBmp Editor looses color definitions so you got lots of banding. I always use the Paint Shop Pro plugin whenever I can.

In any case, it is a bit more complicated than just editing the LM file. I created a series of masks and layers in Paint Shop Pro where you just import the aircraft skin into the editor and it will produce the proper LM file in twice the resolution as the default file.

We can do two things: I can send you the LM files for the FSX stock planes or I can give you the Paint Shop Pro templates so you can use it on several stock aircraft. I have templates for the A321, B737, B747, CRJ700, MD83, and Dash8. If you send me a PM with your email address I can send the files off to you. Please let me know how you want to proceed.

Before you send me anything...if you've got a fix that works for the default 737-800, wouldn't it be easier to just post it in the files area...even it's a MISC entry?
