In GMax (for FSX) is it possible to make visual damage? So that wings, tail etc. come apart when hit against something.

An interesting question.
THere is a visual_damage parameter in the aircraft.cfg file (ex. Aircration trike) that when set to 1, allows the display of visual damage (*parts breaking off upon a crash).
this must also be modeled into the MDL file.
However, I've not crashed my Aircreation Trike to any scenery object, so I can't vouch for it.
Assignment: go crash the Trike into a building and see what happens.

I've tried crashing the trike before and nothing breaks. Do you know how to model visual damage into the model? I also know about the visual_damage=1 line and it was entered in the CFG during the crash. As far as I know, no default FSX aircraft have visual damage when the line is entered.
I have tried FS2004 aircraft in FSX that have visual damage and they have breaking parts, so FSX is capable of damage.

I also would like to see this.
Seeing as FSX was supposed to be a step up from FS2004, I was expecting a more realistic "crash" platform, because let's face it, we all secretly love nosediving jumbojets. However crashes in FSX resemble that of FS2002 or FS2000. No animiation at all, and it's not possible to "semicrash" like it is in FS2004. If your aircraft sustains damage in any way, it's counted as a crash, no damage is shown, and your flight is reset.

The FTC 737 winggs come off if you hit a building I believe.
