Gauge texture

I need to know where the texture goes that is applied to the gauges in the VC? I have a texture $VCmainpanel.bmp applied to my gauges, which is apart from the panel texture,but don't know where they goes in FS?? I am a complete newbie when it comes to VC design. I ahve a tutorial, but does not say where it goes in the FS9 directory.

I always put it in the texture folder, BEFORE making it the diffuse map for the gauge material , and mapping it to gauge polygons.
It's really just reference for you.. once compiled, it's no longer needed.
