Hello Aircraft Designer Chums... ;)...!

If/when I wish to upgrade my standard little Cessna 150 Aerobat, Piper Cub, etc, with a slightly larger Lycoming/Continental motor, giving more power and speed for Aerobatic, etc, purposes.....assuming no problems with weight and balance... ::)....(possibly involving an Airspeed Gauge replacement)

Which particular entries in the "Aircraft.cfg" notepad file for the Aircraft require modifying to achieve this?..... ;)....!

...many thanks...;)...!

Paul, assuming you did'nt replace the piston engine with a jet or turboprop in your Cessna, you can play around with the bold parts:

[piston_engine]
power_scalar = 1.0

Ta, Jake....

...for the advice....a good start...will try it out...;)...!

The Catapult with the elastic band wasn't very successful for increased Speed.....a very short term experiment... :'(....

Paul... ;D... ;D... ;D...!

...saved your File for reference...;)...!

...the Firework Rockets didn't work either... :'(....!

Ta , Brett...

Thanks for the input....Fascinating read... [smiley=thumbsup.gif]...!

What generated my interest in a spot of "power-boosting" was the highly aerobatic Piper Cub Video which Rotty Daddy posted a few days ago.... ;)...!

I quickly found out that I could no-where near perform such outrageous maneuvers with the standard Piper Engine installed.... :(...!
I found out after, that he had installed a larger engine to perform to the Crowds.....without endangering the airframe...(which I thought a bit surprising!... :o...;)...)...!

Interestingly, my standard, lightweight, little Cessna 150 Aerobat (C150_v2), already has a surprising turn of speed as standard, (which it is why it is one of my favourite aircraft in my Hangar), with up to 140 knots cruise speed, properly trimmed, 1/2 a wing of fuel, with just lil' old me on board...(and a bit of a tail wind), to beat a Cessna 172, etc, to the post!.... :-*...!

She already "red-lines" on the old "speedo/knotmeter", bless her, so any increase in speed with a bigger motor would necessitate changing the Airspeed Gauge!... ;D...!

An interesting experiment in swapping engines, props, etc... ;)...!
