Cloning objects

Can someone explain to me perhaps how to clone an object so that is is exactly in the same position. I know you can use mirror,, but is there an easier way?

If you're talking about the 'Mirror' button.. that can cause problems. I've yet to find a use for it while modeling for FSX.

For cloning.. just click on the edit tab (while an object is selected), there's a

If you're talking about the 'Mirror' button.. that can cause problems. I've yet to find a use for it while modeling for FSX.


It's very useful when creating splines (shapes) to use in Shape Merge operations.

Say you want to cut  a wheel well door (or a row of windows).  (I tend to shy away from any boolean operation if I can).  If you create the wheel well door shape and do the shape merge, you'll find that it pops up on the "wrong"  side of the object (say, on the top part).  So you have to mirror the shape - for which you can use the mirror tool, since you'll be deleting the shape anyway before compiling.
