Few Questions (3dsMax and FSX)

Ive got a few planes im working on in 3dsMAX for IL2
I was wondering how does one produce a plane from 3ds to a FSX working model
1. how do you convert the 3ds project into a .mdl files
2. are there any poly limitations with the game (overall or certain meshes)
3. are there and tuts out there.
