Geez

Lots of boolean, and shape/merge, and extrusion, and vertice welding to get THAT fuselage made 8-)

Alex, you've done this a lot more than me, so I won't pretend to instruct you, but couldn't you do and editable spline or draw it with NURBS to get the shape of the fuselage aft of the cockpit, then convert it to an editable poly, extrude it, then scale the fuselage as needed?

I've been helping Alex bridge the language gap in the tutorials :D
Yeah.. spline modeling is one approach to this, but it can be even more work than shape-merge / boolean, etc... Especially with complex, non-symetrical fuselages. Splining also puts vertices in awkward spots.. while other methods tend to create a bunch of problematic vertices.. It's really "six of one, half-dozen of another", .. more about personal preference, than either method being better..

Alex, you are right. The Citation X (and the Soverign, etc.) have such complex curves that it is extremely difficult to recreate in mesh...
As far as I know, the only one who's so far managed to do a credible job on the mesh is Bobby Hayes, the artist who created the Eaglesoft version.
In all fairness though, it did take Bobby nearly a year just to get the fuselage/wingroot/wings correct.
Aside from the portion of fuselage around the cockpit area, where so many models looked "pinched" (I call it pinz-nez - pinched nose), the really hard part is the unique "gull wing swoop" the wings form when viewed from the front.

Thanks Bill ,But I think I began to see a convincing shape of the most difficul part of the CitX ,..The Fuse..

I'd go at it as several parts.. and do the old Boolean thing.. and clean up the mess with the welder
What did I get Into?..

Brett ,Looks Easy, but trust me It doesn't ,in the fuse there are 4 diferent transitions from a circle to a square then two doiferent shapes merges at the same time

, I know how to Cut and union ,what I didn't know was the welding vertices which you thought me

Most of this type of fuselage has to be made Vertice by vertice movement each by one ..Its really though my friend, and Bill Knows what I mean..
here some

Yeah.. it's tough.. Loooooks goooood :)
I've been working on a Convair 240 fuselage for months now..

Just to be clear on this Alex, the wings of the Citation X are not straight when viewed from the front. There is are very subtle curves to the top and bottom of the wings as they taper into the wing root, which gives the impression of "gull wings..."
