Gmax Keyboard Shortcuts not working

Not a single one, and the UI setup says they are there.  And all the keys on my keyboard are working.  Yet none of the Gmax shortcuts work, even ones like typing "Ctrl S" for save, a default keystroke.

EDIT: Okay, solved it by simply reinstalling Gmax, but if anyone has a better solution, please let me know.

Now I have a different problem:

On my original GUI, I had a Macro set into the top toolbar that opened a TagTool for FS, but I can't remember how I got it up there.  I know it had something to do with dragging something there and dropping it, but I can't really remember what exactly.

Tag Tool is a plugin/MaxScript.  Install the script file into teh script folder.

I have TagTool in the scripts folder, and can access it by loading from the usual way, but I had a button that said "Macro 1" in the top toolbar next to the material's editor button that would open it, and I would like to get it back there, but can't remember how.
