Postby Alejandro Rhodes » Sat Apr 12, 2008 3:53 pm

I had posted too many shots in my other thread ,if anything wrong please mods take what ever need to be if I broke a rule here,

I was more surprise few minutes ago after starting the real base of the main DDS map and by watching the effect wich Fr.Bill told me that this is what specular maps does ..

As you know, the sun isn't "white light" at all, it actually is more yellow. But for purposes of this explanation, let us pretend it is pure white. If you shine a white light on a white surface (such as a wing or fuselage), a certain amount and color of reflected light will be observed.

Basically in real life every highlight in an object is actually a reflection of a light source and specularity is  a way to fake those reflections by placing a highlight in the position that the giving object would be reflecting the virtual light.

Also in real life no object reflects light evenly throughout its surface, you could

this wont show you all I can see in my screen just a small part of what Its actualy much more visual and many more effet as dicomposing the light of the sun (Rainbow) in some areas etc , watch the surface color of the wing..
