I just finished a box tutorial, but need someone to check it out before I upload it.  Any volunteers?  Newbies would be great for this.  If someone new can follow it, I know I did good...

Sorry, I forgot to mention it's for Gmax/3ds Max.  I have FSDS 3, but I haven't touched it in so long I tend to forget it exists.  It also requires MS Word ...

Just finished reading it Kevin, a couple of spelling comments;
pixelated - only 1 'L' (page 10)
hierarchy - i before e except after c (page 11)
Otherwise a superb tutorial, the first I've seen for gMax that makes any sense ;)

Wow!  A tutorial for Gmax that I HAVEN'T read.   ;)  I'd love to read it, just for the satisfaction of seeing the Gmax effect rendered (pun intended) on other designers . . .

Here is a trick for those who've never tried it...

Take your 3-view bitmaps and create negative images from them.

Apply those "negative images' to the Opacity slot in your Max/GMax Material instead of using the Diffuse Color slot.

Your drawing will show up as "lighted wires" and the background will be completely invisible. You can also adjust the "color" of the "lighted wires..."

Thats a handy trick Bill. Never tried that one before...

It would also come in very handy if you have high detailed 3 views, with cross section displays.

I have a question, what do you mean by negative image?

On a basic black and white image, where the background is white and the lines are black, the negative image is where the colors are inverted - white lines on a black background.

Oh okay thanks. I found other ways this negative image technique could be used.
