Pluggin along...

Postby Wing Nut » Tue Sep 25, 2007 4:52 pm

It's starting to take shape a bit more.  I sincerely hope the rest of the cockpit isn't this hard...  The worst part was the holes for the altimeter,  I pretty much had to do them by hand (took about an hour of pushing vertices around to get them straight), as there's no real clear picture of what they looked like.  Does anyone recognize it from another plane perhaps?

See the original pic I am working from HERE

The way I've been working it (with my project) is to simply use objects that resemble the stuff I see, rather than work harder than I need to so that I can get something exact.  I have taken liberties with the interior stuff, just so that I wouldn't have to do detailed construction when none is truly needed.  For simmers, exact detail is usually not as important as functionality, so I tend to lean more towards what FEELS right, rather than what is correct for the aircraft.  Not too true to the "as real as it gets" dictum of flight sim, but I think it sticks with the heart of simming itself.
