But hey Ive got a lot of questions, the big one now, say i have a landing gear strut, would the L_gear be a group of all the parts needed to make up the strut (the blue, pink, yellow, and purple bits)

Actually, what you should do is name all the parts with the prefix L_Gear, and then add a suffix's to them to differentiate between the parts.  For instance: L_Gear_top, L_Gear_bottom, L_Gear_strut, etc.  Then animate and link.  The FS game engine will know what to do with the info . . . ;)

For FS9, your gear animated parts should be named L_gear_xx (note that your NON-animated parts don't have to follow thie numdered suffix convention - you can name a non-animated part l_gear_poppet to keep it in a logical "parts list" sequence)

For FS-X, you can name it whatever you want, and then reference the "l_gear" animation in FS-X tools.  For convenience, it is "good practice" to keep the "l_gear" naming convention.

makes enough sense, now how about having more than 100 keyframes?

Well, all gear reference 200 keyframes anyway.  0-100 is the closed-to-open animation; 101-200 is the gear compression.

Otherwise, why would you need more than 100 frames?

Hey all. Not sure how well you know the UI in Gmax Falcon but if you mean how to change the time scale right click the Time configuration and change the end frames. Wasnt sure if you needed to know the animation part or the UI.
Still things Im learning about the UI. ;)
Also when your animating scenery or any Tick18 part you can only have a max of 1024 frames. Which is handy to know if you ever animate a ground object.

Yep that is the most annoying error I get it alot when the transform gets out of wack.
Just select the effected part and remove the animation. Then go to the hiearchy tab and reset the transform scale. Then reanimate. (see pic)
Model looks great!
