I found a nifty little tool for similar situations as this that could possibly help.  It's an inflight measuring stick that will measure the exact size of any aircraft in FS.  Its made by AI Aardvark, but I can't find the actual place that I downloaded it from.

At any rate, if you can find this, simply go measure the exact size in FS and then do a little mathematical conversion to figure out the ratio you need to reduce the aircraft to in 3DS Max.  It won't be normal in the creation program, but it will come out right in the sim.

oh.. what a thing :o

in recent research i found that the 747-400 i had been comparing my 777-200 to in FS has 70,7m of length while my plane has 63.7........   for some reason, i thought the difference would be bigger... i figured the 777-2000 would be smaller.... :P

oh embarrassment of me... turns out the export size WAS accurate the whole time!  I was the one who was off a few meters......

i set up a tape in 3ds max with the same wingspn of the 747-400... to my utter surprise, it was almost a perfect match with that of the 777 and what hit me like a brick: THE EXACT SAME DIFFERENCE I
