Unlike my last four official projects, this one is going to be different because I am modeling a motorcycle. So you can expect the dynamics on this one to be real challenging. ;)

I don't know what model Ducati that is but personally I think the 999 looks much better, oh and yes the flight dynamics will be a challenge but not that impossible. The key is to use a sailplane air file with center mounted wheels, which give the effect of the bike to sway left and right.

I managed to export the Ducati onto FS9, but with two problems.

1. I keep running into OBED scaling errors in Gmax as I try to export the most basic form of the model. The export process manages to work properly, but I want to get rid of the OBED message now before it hinders my efforts later down the road.

2. The visual model may show up properly [and properly scaled] when running a flight, but the model itself won't show up in the aircraft menu [you can see the name, but not the model]. I think this has something to do with the OBED error message.

Help will be very much appreciated. The reason why I am doing the tests right now in FS9 is because I want to start tackling the dynamics of the motorcycle before continuing on with the modeling process. This is largely due in part that I like to know how FS handles motorcycles.

OT:  If I ever want to make a topic index of threads at FFDS, all I think I have to do is put out a call ...  I think most of you guysknow what's on these boards better than I do!

Monster S4 rocks, but it is a partially naked bike, so you

I managed to get rid og the OBED error. All I had to do was reset their scales.

Anyways, here comes the fun part: the dynamics.

As I was making changes to the aircraft.cfg file, I noticed that the motorcycle had a tendency to not respond to aileron movement or it would flip over if turning too fast. It's pretty wierd basically. However, FS does seem to handle well with vehicles that have two wheels [one behind the other]. The problem now is trying to balance this sucker.

you should put invisible wheels like a sailplane's tip wheels to prevent complete flipping. maybe make it to where the bike can only go over 50 degrees or so until it hits a tip wheel. kinda like really high training wheels

Smart thinking now your reaching a designer's, thought process lol. ;)

That seems like a logical course of action. It can sure help me with the tipping-over issue; but if I can't get the Ducati to stablize on any surface, then I might have to create a gauge that can deal with the issue.

But dont you get skidmarks from the hidden wheels?

hide them in the model as the riders knees. if you watch motorcycle racing you will see what i mean.
