Final Shots of the Hummer

Postby Katahu » Wed Feb 28, 2007 1:02 pm

These will be the last shots of the project you will ever see. Beyond this, I will release a beta version on 7 Mar 2007 to see how the model works for everyone.

I'll post these on FSGV later on. Obviousely, there will be improvements made and more objects [like the rims, pedals, driver, etc.] will be added after the beta release. I'm thinking of outfitting machine guns on the hummer, just for the heck of it. 8-)

Looking pretty good, not too far away.

Still planning on doing the H2 and H3, or are you done (with big trucks) after the H1?
Sincerely,
Me

Only the H1 will be made. Like I said in my blogs, I not a fan of the H2 and H3 because they look too... civilian. ;)

I'm thinking about modeling a custom chopper [the motorcycle] after this since I like to take advanced of the splines with that one. What do you think?

Yes, someone with some sense!  The H2 and H3 are not hummers!  Seriously, at the car show I climbed into the back seat of the H2 and the H3.  In both of them, my knees were touching the front seat.  I am 5 foot 9!

Anyways, a motorcycle would be really cool.  I don't really drive in FS much, but I'd love to try the motorcycle.

Are you planning on finishing the racetrack?  When you first brought it up I was really intrigued by the concept of having drivable surfaces.

Well, if you're referring to the track for FSGV, I'm thinking of doing a complete rework of it. FS2004 seems to have a glitch when it comes to drivable surfaces [blindspots that causes cars to fall through]. However, it looks like FSX no longer has that issue as I have been driving around on the FSX bridges for quite a while.

Heck, I have been trying to make a working landing light (FSX) for a couple of months now! If you have a workaround I would really like to hear about it! (working with FSDS though.)

Please, do tell. :D

By the way, I downloaded your Hawker. That's a nice choice of plane you have there. 8-)

BTW I didn't mean to hijack this thread! Thanks for the help with landing lights. This Hummer may be the first driving vehicle I try out in FSX, am curious to see how it goes compared to FS9 (where the mesh wasn't too favourable with regard to driving vehicles over sudden cliffs). It's looking good.

Sorry for the extremly late response . . .

A chopper would be cool for visual modeling, but I think a sports bike would be better if you want to challenge yourself with vehicle dynamics (lean over/weight transfer). Maybe this would a good compromise of visuals and dynamics challenges: http://www.ducati.com/od/ducatinorthame ... model=1703

Ooooooh! Aaaaaah! Now that's a great compromise. It's a good blend between choppers and the sleak bikes. 8-)

The Ducati it is! :D

Oh and by the way, I have just released the beta version of the Hummer H1.
