New to Simviation, not new to 3d modeling

Hello, I am Venom and I have been modeling for several years now. Currently I use a program called Zmodeler 1.07B, but soon I will be learning Max 8. But, my Zmod made aircraft can easily be converted to Max, although they most likely will need to be remapped for FS9. If anyone would like to help get these models into FS9 just send me a PM so I can send them over  :)

Hi and welcome to Simviation. Impressive stuff you modelled. I like that black Mercedes 190 you did. Very detailed.

Crash ;)

I took a look at your models, and I have to say that most of them are STUNNINGLY good.  But there is a problem.  As is, you could have an exterior model, but creating a VC would kill everyone's framerates, not to mention that I don't think the converter would like such a high-poly model.  And creating an aircraft without an interior model these days doesn't make much sense, since neraly everyone flys in the VC at some point these days.

If I were you, I would look around on those models and figure out what parts could be remodelled.  The XF5U-1 Flying Pancake is perfect for FS.  13,000 polys is absolutely fine for an exterior model, but 48,000 (on the RA-11A Kestrel) is probably too many, since the interior model will take up a good 25-30,000 if done correctly.  That means you would end up with around 78,000 polys.  I try to keep my models down around 60,000, so see if you can get a few of the polys out of it . . .

All in all, though, that is FANTASTIC work.  I'm very impressed . . .

Thanks.
The Kestrel can easily be knocked down to around 20,000 polies, just by getting rid of the weapons and the FLIR turret under the nose. Most of my planes hover around 20,000 polies without weapons and such. Maybe I can whip up some real cockpits for them sometime so the detail inside matches that outside  ;)

The Kestrel is awesome! :o it almost looks like a cross between an a-10 and a p-38, two of my favorite planes! :o :o

I'm a friend of Venom's, and we'd been thinking about this for awhile as well. I've been searching frantically on how to get my super fighter (The Longsword) into FS as well his stuff, and well...give up.

He's a bit more advanced when it comes to this stuff (Read: Alot more advanced), but here are some things I've been thinking about for FS as well.

This as shown is about 40,000 pixels. With external weapons, landing gear, the cockpit, etc, lights, and other accessories,

Thanks everyone.  :D
Another new project, although this one is based off of a real plane. I call it the F-14E Ultra Tomcat and it is my idea for a 21st century upgrade to the now retired F-14. The basic modeling of the fuselage is complete, now it is getting textures and various other details will follow. All control surfaces, landing gear doors, arrestor hook, and canopy will detached, to make for a easier conversion to FS9 hopefully.  :)
Dark gray = untextured

Also, this plane will lack the amount of panel lines when compared to a real F-14, mainly because of one of my modifications: composite skin. Only critical panels, such as the engine bay, avionics bays, etc will be represented. This also makes corrosion less of a problem, plus it will have less drag due to a smoother surface.  8-)

WOW! Impressive stuff there mate! I especially liked the Boeing WIG. ;) I have a feeling you might make all of those untouched planes, like the X-3 Stilleto etc.  :) Keep it up!  [smiley=thumbsup.gif]

Just had a look at the volumes of projects, my jaw drops out...I can only imagine how much time went into completing only a couple of those original designs, let alone the whole group of them. Excellent stuff, I would be interested in giving some a test if they are made ready for FS9/FSX. Can they be converted to FSDS3 for remapping?

I can only imagine the amount of time you put in to these, the models are amazing to say the least!
I'd love to see how that F-14E Ultra Tomcat flies, and the fan blades on the Kestral remind me of what the E-2 Hawkeyes have, always hated them on the flight deck out on deployment! Breezy as heck!
