Hey all...

I just ordered Turbocad v12 a few days ago because my Dad wanted me to get it to get some experience in CAD before college where I will end up using CAD (aeronautical engineering)

It wont arrive till at least Friday, but in the meantime I was wondering if anyone has any suggestions for tutorials to use to learn how to use it.

Also, do the CAD to Gmax converters work for turbocad?

I very doubt that in college you will use autocad as now it's been replaced by Catia V5 programm. I'm a graduate from Ecole nationale d'aerotechnique (montreal) in the same programm as you and during my whole study there we haven't touched autocad once. Now i'm working for Pratt&Whitney Canada and there too it's exceptionally rare that we get to use autocad.

But probably your dad is right as both programm ressembles but Catia V5 is very expensive to own individual licience.

It should work considering that Turbocad makes the cad files. Does it?

If Turbocad saves a .dwg or a .dxf or better yet on 3ds you will be able to bring the design to gmax...
dwg and dxf need to be imported on 3d max and after exported to 3ds...

I work with AutoCad since 1994 version 9 for Dos...and with Microstation since 2003. I use Microstation as a base environment for the Intergraph's PDS - Plant Design System in my everyday work :P

I have Turbocad v. 1.2 because my dad is a civil engineer. I've made aircraft models with it, but I have yet to find a gmax converter for it.

TurboCAD should save as dxf or 3DS.  I have V.10  1.2 seems like an old version....  ??
