Swapping Air.file

Postby Andi » Sat Jul 08, 2006 8:16 pm

Perhaps not the right place to ask this, but oh well ....  ::)

Does anyone know if it's possible to swap one aircraft's Air.file for another?  If so, how would I go about it?

I have a helicopter installed who's visual model is very good, but its handling is poor.  I'd like to make it handle like another helo I have 'in the hanger'.  I've tried just swapping Air.files, but it didn't work.

Please help .... pretty please ... with a cherry on top   :-*

For personal use, swapping is fine.

Just put it in the folder and name it the same as what you had ... or, change the sim= parameter in the aircraft.cfg fltsim section(s) to be the same name as the xxx.air file name.

As an adendum:

Just changing the airfiles themselves will not always resolve this type of issue.  There are several things that occur in the aircraft's config file (aircraft.cfg) that override the entries in the airfile.  Those are harder to change, but can be done with a bit of asking and a little patience.
