Project Nissan: Update

Postby Katahu » Mon May 22, 2006 9:54 am

Excuse me if my project has been a little slow. Since I have moved back to Florida from Arkansas, I had to ship all of my stuff [I carried my laptop] via mail and that stuff included my two external hard drives that contained my entire project. I'm suppose to recieve all of my stuff today so I'll let you know if everything is in order.

Once I get the project going again I'll start on the beta testing. Anyone want to volunteer?

RECAP [for those who are not familiar]:

Project Nissan is the Gmax development of the Nissan Skyline R34 for FS9 and it has been under development for almost half a year. Progress of the development is obviously indicated by my sig. If you have any suggestions or questions then fire away.

I finally setup a website that will soon be home to many kind of car addons. Think of it as an online garage for FS. 8)

That's a great site, Jesse.  I really like the work you're doing, but I would suggest (if I may) that you choose a different color for the site.  That neon green is a bit harsh on the eyes.  Perhaps a tone a bit milder . . .

And I would also love to help test-drive the Skyline.  Looks like a real winner! ;)

Thanks for the suggestion, Locke. I was thinking about a sky blue for the color but I didn't want to be a copycat of SimV. I'll see which color is better. The reason I chose green was that only three colors were available [blue, green, orange] and I was hoping to chose a color that might suit those who are colorblind.

Thanks for volunteering as well. I'll post a beta version of the car soon enough at SimV. Freewebs seems to be limiting my file space unless I subscribe to the premium service which I might consider doing.

For all of you who volunteered to test the Nissan out here is the link to the beta release. I hope the dynamics are good enough.

http://www.freewebs.com/katahu/downloadracers.htm

If you have any ideas on how to improve the dynamics or if you want to rewrite the whole aircraft.cfg then go ahead and send them to me so that I can implement them. Bare in mind that this beta doesn't have much animations since the purpose of this beta is to see if the dynamics are good enough for the common user.

Ok everyone, I've already animated the suspensions as well as the doors. All that's left now are:

1. Finalized dynamics [still waiting for feedback]
2. Active DVC Gauges
3. Light Effects
4. 2D Panel*

*The 2D panel should be easy considering that I have found some photos on the internet that are most likely going to be used as photo-realistic panels. And I must say, these are nicely-detailed photos.

So far so good. 8)

Man, I have never seen this many photos on the net for this particular car in my life. The Nissan must be that popular. ;D

New screenshots of the updated Nissan are available here:

http://www.freewebs.com/katahu/projectpns.htm

Just use the navigation bar on the bottom and scroll to the right for the latest shots. Almost all of the animations are in working order though the wheels still need tinkering.

And just to let you all know I am still waiting on that feedback regarding the dynamics. I want to know what you people think about it.
