Odd turboprop problem

Postby Travis » Tue May 30, 2006 12:37 pm

I've been messing around with a turboprop aircraft config recently.

In slew, it is A to the ground, and F1 to Idle.

Check your cfg for these things:

beta_max=45 to 65 depending on your air file table 511
beta_min=11.800  <--- s/b 15 or less
min_gov_rpm=17309.000  <---- set this so that when divided by gear_reduction_ratio, prop speed is 700 rpms (or multiply gear rection ratio by 700 to calc this)
prop_tc=0.011
gear_reduction_ratio=24.7272  Get this number from your specs or engine/aircraft mfr.

Thanks, Milton.  My min_gov_rpm was way off the mark.  That's settled, now, but I have another problem.

I'm setting up the VC, and I don't rightly know which parts are necessary for a turboprop startup and all that.  I can figure out what else to add, but the main startup sequence I am completely unfamiliar with.  If anyone knows a short (or long) list of the parts necessary to start two engines from the VC, I would be most appreciative . . .
