I just created a test scenery model for FS. How do i get it out of gmax and into fs?

I do not have FS9 just FS8 so i dont have any files contained with FS9.

thanks,

Just check the thread at the top of the 3D Design page.  The sticky there is labled . . . Aircraft & 3D Design FAQs.  There's a link to another thread in there titled Gmax to FS2002.  Just follow the steps.

Hope you have 2k2 Pro . . .

[s]Well, I'm not sure, but I think the SDK for ACOF will work with 2k2, you just have to remember that none of the newer animation stuff will work.

But it might be prudent to check on that, maybe with the guys on the FFDS forums.

Ummm....where can I find that?

You can check the FFDS Forums (Free Flight Design Shop) but I believe they're going to give you the same thoughts over there.  Sorry. :(

TO convert to FS2002, you do NOT need the "more expensive product".

You can use the FS9 converter from the FS9 gmax SDK, and make a separate install of the gamepack, labelling it "FS2002"   You can use the makemdl.exe and other information from the FS2002 SDKs, which are available from the Microsoft site, and follow the instructions on creating scenery for FS2002.

Whoops!  Sorry about that!  Didn't realize it was possible.  I just thought since the MakeMDL setup was different, it wouldn't work correctly . . . :P
