How do i make a canopy in FSDS3?

Hi, if i could figure this out, i could get a lot of projects done but i cant figure it out, my worst problem is figuring out how to use the boonlean operations.  I do not understand them at all and it is very frustrating and a lot of hair has been pulled cause of this.  Can anyone give me a much better tutorial on canopies and boonlean operations then the help section of FSDS3 does?
