Glass

greetings all.

I'm a bit rusty. I havn't played with my FSDS in 2 years.

useing the newest version. 2.2 and the FS2004 updates, I need help creating glass textures for canopys
Whats the best way to go about that.

Also, any tips about animation would be apriciated.

Welcome back.

By the way, the latest version is FSDS3 (released yesterday)


For your glass parts, set a material alpha of 64 or 128 - whatever sets your fancy.

I tend to go with a greenish color and alpha of 64.

For animations, you'll need to pay strict attention to the tags you choose, and whether it's a stock/default animation (such as elevator, l_aileron, r_aileron, etc) which is determined by the part axis orientation, or a keyframe animation (l_gear, r_gear) etc., for which you have to set the various key frames.

The FSDS help file on animation is actually quite good!

I havn't seen version 3 anywere, not even the Abacus webesite.

I made some nice glass with a difuse of light grey and alpha 200.
