I have been tooling around with aircraft like always on CFS2 and i have noticed that some aircraft that are imported will load bombs and rockets but will not show them or be able to drop them in flight. I dont know how to fix this but i think it maybe somthing in the mdl file but im not sure.

Any suggestions?  ??? ???

the FS (civilian) series has a slightly different engine that doesn't allow weapons, as CFS1/2 do.

SOME weapons can be simulated with effects and modelling, but they are non-functional (i.e. no damage will result)

Depending on what version of flight sim the planes were made for you may need to convert the model to CFS 2 specs for weapons t be visible.

You can get the conversion tool here: http://www.microsoft.com/games/combatfs ... verter.asp

Do not use the Optimized Graphics options...to my knowledge that never did work. :)

Well that really confuses me, it has a combo of FS98 engine params. and CFS params..? I also have a few aircraft with FS98 engines that drop payloads and oddly enough those are the aicraft that usually cannot be AI controlled, (ie they AI wingleader glides and the wingmen do a sciccors maneuavor behind him until they hit the water)

Engine parameters have nothing to do with the ability to carry and drop bombs, it's all the .mdl file.

Your observations about CFS 2 behaviour of FS 98 airfiles in correct...they do strange things. :)

Silver Fox you were right, the converter thing fixed the .dp problem, proud to say my P-47N can now carry bombs and rockets  ;)
