Hi-
I am new to this forum. This very kind person made this Semi Truck with a trailer for me but forgot to do the EXPORT of the model for me, leaving me to do that myself. Having no knowledge on GMAX or anything like that I just wondered if any of you people out there would be able to configure this model into something USEFUL to drive around in. I don't understand it, this person made two cars for FS2004 and I have them both....as to why he didn't finish this is beyond me.
Anyways, any help here to finish this project would be greatly appreciated. Thanks
Lee

Do you want this to be a dynamic scenery object or a drivable semi/trailer combination?
I don't think that the FS engine allows for a "trailer" situation, whereas a dynamic scenery object can be programmed to "follow" a track...

A driveable vehicle. You see, he made the model with a trailer in GMAX and sent me the Semi Truck file. I can view the whole thing in GMAX but to export it and everything else is WAY over my head. Would you know how to do the export from GMAX to make it useful in the flight sim world? I can send you the zip file if you wish.
Let me know. Thanks
Lee

Leo - the exporting, per se, isn't that difficult. The main problem really lies in making the articulation work properly, and that is beyond my abilities.
I hope someone else can solve the problem.

Maybe "trailer" = "rudder" for animation purposes?

uhh.....
That very kind person you're talking about would be me.

I made the truck for him, but I didn't know that he wanted me to fully complete the model [with all the animation, textures, sounds, and dynamics]. So... being the dumb person I am... I just sent the source file and barely-finished textures to him.
SOOOooooo... let me just sit in a corner and wear a dunce cap while I'm at it.
