Drag chute and Lights

Here again with my F-5B  :)
I would like to add a drag chute, as the real one, but cant find info about doing it.
Chute should work only below a certain speed, and act as a brake for several seconds, before disappearing.
I also need help with nav lights... I have tried to use tags beacon and strobe in FSDS, but lights appears always on, and no flashing... maybe lights should be defined in aircraft.cfg and no in the 3D model?
Any help will be welcome  ;)

Thanks

Pd You could see my model in http://www.ala23.com/virtual.htm

For the lights,

As you mentioned, there is no need to actually add the lights to your model in FS, you can sidestep this by including the appropriate entries within your aircraft.cfg file.

Did you know that you can also use those same light effects to visualize where exactly the wheel contacts are at?

It's simple. Just copy (ctrl+c) the x,y,z coordinates of the wheel contacts and paste (ctrl+v) them over a set of light coordinates.

Basically what you are doing is simply moving those lights to the same place as the wheel contacts. You can also do the same for scrape points.

I use this same method for visualizing where the wheels contacts are at for my Porsche and Ferrari.

Yes, the lights method is great for positioning the contact points... I found it in here:

http://www.sim-outhouse.com/index.php?l ... es&page=cp

very very well explained... great work!

Now I have a nice drag chute... just had to download and paste in my model... just a few issues to solve, like that the chute doesnt work as brake  ???

I have been seen how the chute is done, and have found some conditions in the parts... Anyone knows where can I learn about the use of conditions???
ABACUS forgot to make a good manual for FSDS  :'(

Thanks again for your help

Hi
Im assuming your using Luka's Chute :)
The conditions you talk about are hand coded.
there is as far as I know no 1stop explanation or tut on the coding (you could try here http://www.cfgse.calebflerk.com/
and the scasm docs)
As for braking you will need to tie in a drag function via an xml gauge ie flaps, wheel breaks, spoilers to the tail hoook
Cheers
