aircraft

Iv'e gotten some very respecful time on g-max and have learned alot. I'm getting to the point where I can almost start designing my own aircraft but still have some walls that need to be overcome. I'm working on a fuselage that was constructed by using line method, then using the editable spline to help. What my maine goal is to learn how to surface what I constructed with some faces.  ??? or skin

Here's some pics of what it looks like and what I tried.
Help will greatly be appreciated. If anybody got's any suggestions. Or If anybody knows any tutorials that would help. ;D

Not that I'm an expert, or even knowledgable, but I would have approached that fuselage by creating cross section splines, a central axis and then lofting.

Alternatively, I could have attached the cross section splines, in order, and added a connect (I think) and surface modifiers.

At this stage, can you split off sections of the spline cage and add the surface modifier separately?

personaly i would have not line/spline modeled it.
splines are handy for creating complex objects.
something you would need to spline is a knights armour. I would have poly and verticy model it.
messing with a cylinder. A handy tool is shape merge.
create a line that is a circle are when you click the box
it creates that identation to your box or what ever.
i would get the stupid idiot guide to max that is
very useful. The stupid idiot guide to gmax is simplier.
go to the create screen click on drop down box go to compound odject. go to shape merge and pick odject b and click the other object    ;) ;)
gmaxing it real
