Postby KDSM » Fri Mar 11, 2005 7:17 pm

How do i add more sections? (along the y axis)
I used splines then extruded
I want to add more sections so ill have enough vertices to shpae it to the wing template (LT.Green shape top veiw)
I did it earlier today but i dont know how i did it

Ok another question

I've now got the shape of the fuselage and am happy with the way it looks but now there is a problem.
the wing span in gmax is almost 400 meters!!!

I need to get it down to about 88 meters

the question

is there a way to rescale an object after it is made?
if you can point me to a link with a tutorial that would be great.

1. Make a calibration box the size of, say, wingspan x length x (token) height.  It should be a "lines only" box.

2. Select the parts you want to scale (I presume it's everything except the calibration box)

3. Click on "uniform scale"  (the icon that looks like a cube) and drag until the wingspan fits within the box.

here's another way, i find it simpler

instead of using the slicer, you can simply extrude only as far as the first section and then extrude again... and again and again for as many section as you need...

you don't even have to use the extrude function itself... just select the cap edge(s), hold shift and drag it away from the fuselage...

this results in a much 'cleaner' model, since you don't get all those loose vertices that appear when you use slice...

hope this helps

c ya
