How to animate cat tracks?

Postby Glitch » Sun Mar 06, 2005 8:21 am

I am designing a model which requies Catapillar type treads. Any one know of a way to animate such a structure? I was thinking a combination of alternating beacon on and beacon off parts following the track loop to simulate the movement of the loop. Then adding >0 rpm condition to have the movement appear when throttle is applied. Any comments on this theory? Would the beacon on and beacon off used this way simulate motion?

Using FSDSv2, For use in FS2004

Hi
I think you will find the only way you maybe able to do this is with G-MaX using the wright flyer drive chain animation. In Fsds its gunna be a pain but maybe with a sld macro, wasnt there a older transformer robot model that played around with this type of animation?
Cheers
