X-ray prop?

Postby Akula. » Sat Feb 26, 2005 10:02 am

Ok, I was just playing with a FSDS fury, and i put on a disc and named it prop_blurred or whatever you are meant to call it. I applied the texture "propspinf_ront" and flew it. There was a problem. this is what happened...

For those of you who cant see the problem, look at the prop, and then look at the wings. Where did the wing roots go? If i pan around then I can see both the prop and the wing roots, but when the prop is in the way, it makes them dissapear. Any ideas? good, cos I'm out of them  :(

I have seen this with Gmax created models before. What you can try is to lower the opacity of the material just a bit. This has always taken care of such problems from a Gmax built model Maybe FSDS will let you do the same.

That, in modelling technical jargon, is called the drawingorderispoopedupthing.

USUALLY, cut the disc and immediately paste it so that the transparent part (prop disc) is last in the model drawing order.
