It's out of print ...  if you can't find it. ....

What do you need it for?

You might as well forget about it. That program is obsolete.

Your remaining choices are:

FSDS (Flight Shop Design Studio)
GMAX (You can find it at the Discreet website)

I forgot the name of the third program that came out. It's also free.

Gmax is a free download [a very big download] while FSDS is a commercial product. Even though GMAX is free, it can be a tough program to learn compared to FSDS.

You can use Gmax for either FS or CFS. What you need are the plugins that can help you export the models to them.

For CFS, I'm not sure where to get the plugins for that because I never made any addons for CFS [just FS addons].

For FS, as far as I know, you need the plugin that's inside the FS2002pro CD in order to export the model to FS9.

Even if you get everything setup and ready for modeling, you should know that creating addons for FS is never easy.

Caution - if you want to make models for the ORIGINAL CFS (ie. CFS1), then no, gmax will not help you.  You can only use gmax to make models for CFS2, FS2002/FS2004, CFS3.

AD2000 (Aircraft Designer 2000) COULD make FS98 type models (which is what you would use for CFS1), but that is also out of print.  I do not believe that AD2002LT (the free "light" version of AD2002, available on this site) has the modules necessary to make the "old" models.

BTW - the gmax support and download pages are better at turbosuid -

I was wondering what was going on with the discreet website. I thought it was just my computer causing a problem when going to that site.

When I first started using Gmax, I uninstalled and reinstalled the d@wn thing 50 times before I decided to stick with it. ::)

With a little patience and persistence, you'll make it through Op.

Just to repeat what Felix said. Gmax is no use whatsoever for creating anything for CFS1 (or FS98/2000). Providing you can get hold of it AF99 is the only practical option. It's still around if you want it badly enough.

Gadzooks!  Aircraft Factory 99 is still available from Abacus - quantities are limited, though since it is out of print.

If it's not on the on line catalog, send and e-mail or phone up.
