I have just repainted an aircraft, worked well, but every time i try to edit the .air-file -even if i just change one single letter- the aircraft doesn`t work no more. What is that ?
Thank you for your support!

Are you trying to rename the .air file? If so, make sure that the sim reference line in the .cfg file is the same. In other words, if your .air file name is boeing737.air, then the 'sim' line in the .cfg must be exactly the same; e.g.  in the [fltsim.0] section, it needs to read:
sim=boeing737  (don't include the '.air')

Change even one letter and the plane won't show up in the selection menu.

:)

Thank you, microlight, but thats no the problem. In my "aircraft.cfg" is sim=737micro (congratulations! btw.). The corresponding .air-file is "737micro.air" Works fine. What I am trying to do ist edit the "737micro.air", not changing the file name. In "737micro.air" is written, say "This ist microlight

A couple of things come to mind...

What version of FS are you using (which would lead me to believe you have FS98 or earlier, if you're trying to change that information in the *.air file)

That information can be changed with a regular text editor in the aircraft.cfg file.  If you're using a text editor to change the *.air file, I bet the sim is not recoignizing the file anymore.
