Landing lights on cockpit view

Postby loomex » Sat Jan 22, 2005 6:39 pm

I cant figure out how to illuminate the runway with the landing lights while in cockpit view. I can see the lights in VC view and all other views, just not in cockpit view. I'm using FSDS and made the lights visable in VC mode by makeing a VC model

You have to create a front view model.

Hi
The front model not only needs the lights but the gear legs and any rotating patrs the ligths are attached to if you still cant see them the make sure no other transperent parts are in front of light and ahead of them in the parts list (ie cut and past the lens to the end of parts list) also you will only be able to see the light under I think about 800 ft,the front model is only rendered from 0 to I think 800 feet or so

This is weird, believe it's the same problem I am having, but for one aircraft only.  The landing light appears when in chase/tower views (thankfully!), but when flying from cockpit view, the light does not illuminate the runway.  I'd downloaded a panel that has night lighting, but when this is activated, the ground below the plane in cockpit view remains dark.  Wondering if it may be something in the panel.cfg file, upon looking at a few other aircraft files it is not apparent if there is a feature to adjust this.

First I have to say thank (deity of your choice) for the file "autosave.dst"
I'll try it all again
