To interested designers:
I am wondering if anyone in the community would like to be involved in a unique educational project that we are currently unertaking at Utah Valley State College. Some of you folks may be familiar with the Collings Foundation. The foundation restores vintage aircraft to flyable condition for public education. One of the most remarkable sets of planes that are currently flying is the B-17G (Nine O Nine) and the only flying B-24J (The Dragon and its Tail) of which are part of a national tour called "Wings of Freedom". In order to help the public learn about and experience these aircraft more fully we are currently developing a DVD for them as a class project (Advanced DVD Authoring). We are planning a virtual tour of both craft on the DVD (no small programming task) and are planning on building them in 3D Max. However, I got to thinking about our time frame and I thought maybe someone in the group may like to help us out and rub shoulders with the students? Rather than start from scratch I was hoping someone would volunteer in this worthwhile endeavor.
I saw some amazing work done on the B-25J "Briefing Time" pack and I was thrilled. I had not seen this one yet. Absolutly amazing work!! I'll try and contact them this week personally. This is what we're looking for quality wise and they have the same goal as we do on this project - keep these planes flying for the public to experience.
Drop me an e-mail if interested and please share this with buddies you feel may be an interest as well. And to all - keep up the wonderful work!
