Back to the 1st grade for me...

Postby Omag 2.0 » Thu Sep 16, 2004 1:49 pm

Hi all!

I've been using FS9 for quite a while now, and become more and more interested in designing.

I've downloaded Gmax, and found some tutorials, but most of them don't cover the ( much needed) basics...

I use Autocad on a regular basis ( only 2D though) at work, so i've spotted some resemblance... but still it shoud be a lot easier using the "right" trainingtool ( dummy-style perhaps... ;D)

So if any of you guys would wanna direct me towards a decend tutorial, i'd be very thankfull...

Cheers!

The basics of gmax you get from the default tutorials  (no need to download gmax nor tutorials - they're in FS9's Disk 1 - Extras folder).

For the basics of making an airplane - once you go through the gmax basic tutorials - check out the "Stupid Idiot's Guide to Making an Airplane with Gmax" hosted here in Simviation.  Check the design utilities page.

There are two books on Gmax as well one comes with a cd with tutorials. You can find these books at any major bookstore. GMAX bible & GMAX handbook.
I for one found the other tutorials more confusing than help the only one I made any sense of was the one for the house. I now use it as a line shack at my home base
I tried to build the P38 and almost woud up hairless ;D
no matter what I did I could not get the fuselage part for the life of me.  8)
