For FS9 in the gmax gamepack/SDK, from Microsoft.

Cheers Felix, got that :)
Now for question two:
Apart from Makemdl and FSModelExp.dle, is there anything else I need to make my planes show in FS?

Thanx again for your anticipated help.

Well, obviously all the usual elements of the aircraft folders. ;)

But if you mean to convert to a file FS can use, I have found a couple of things that might help.

First is Doc Moriarty's MDLCommander.  It is simply an interface that grabs the X file (what Gmax creates to make a model) and saves it for review, so if you run into problems exporting ("MakeMDL could not be found . . . etc"), you can figure out just what the problem actually is.  You can find it here:

http://hometown.aol.de/_ht_a/docmoriart ... index.html

With information and installation instructions here:

http://hometown.aol.de/_ht_a/docmoriart ... ander.html

The next is Middleman.  Its a great little prog created by one Chris File that helps you tweak out your modelling for your own personal desires.  You can get it here:

http://thegreatptmd.tripod.com/

Install these two little things and your Gmax files will be that much easier to create.

No they won't.  If you did a successful compile to *.mdl your problem is probably going to be in the aircraft folder. By that I mean you have a naming problem most likely or one of your folder is missing something. Go here http://www.simviation.com/acinstall.htm and read up on how to install aircraft. I bet you find you have something wrong in the aircraft folder.

Good luck

If the model won't display, most of the time its one of two things.

1. The name in the "model.cfg" file, located in the "model" folder, is not the same as the model.

2. There is something wrong with the Aircraft.cfg file, in that a name has been misspelled or placed on the wrong line.

Cheers for the help guys, fixed the "not showing" problem :D
Now one more:
It flies BACKWARDS - i followed the Tutorial step-by-step and even ripped it apart and started again, but it still flies the wrong way :(

Any ideas as to why ? ::) ???

Thanx again for the help.

Someone did the P-38 gmax tutorial?

Hint:  THe images are reversed.  In the latest (gmax 1.2) tutorial, the last step is to rotate the whole model 180-degrees.

Basically, if you note the P-38s views are rotated 180 degrees.  What you get as left view is really the right.
