I tried to use the MDL Converter on the stock CFS1 P-51 and I got an error "Unable to save". Anyone know why it won't save?

What are you supposing to fix on it?
There should be no need to run it through the converter.
What the CFS1 birds in "2" really need are new damage profiles and Martin Wright's tool to strip the rockets pylons, available here http://www.fly.to/mwgfx
As for dp's, there's a conversion pack made by Charles Simpson here at Simviation, the both files just at the top:

Thanks. All I know is what it said on the MS site. I figured it was needed for all planes from CFS1. Oh well, Thanks.

Hi Will. The MDL Converter is used to convert 3rd party aircraft created with FS Design Studio (or AF99)  for FS2000 to display external weapons in CFS2. Aircraft posted in the CFS2 sections should be already converted. This is not always the case for earlier models posted on the first few pages of the CFS2 sections.

PS. See my reply to one of your other posts for using the CFS1 defaults in CFS2.* I'm having a job keeping up with all these questions. LOL :P ;)

*PPS. I notice that Mathias already answered that.
