Any XML coders here?

Help!  I need a gauge to automatically trigger the TAILHOOK animation above a certain speed.  My own efforts have it constantly toggling.   :'(

Aircraft is finished.  A rather nifty compound helicopter that cruises at 235 knots.  I'm using the tailhook to alter the rotor disk angle as I believe this is the ONLY thing left that will work on both FS2002 and FS9.  I'm guessing the water rudder won't work at all, which is a shame as THAT doesn't put bl;oody silly messages on the screen while it's moving!

Thanks folks.

Well, the good news is that there is nothing wrong with your code and the gauge works fine.  :)
Bad news is that helicopters don't have concorde noses as far as M$ is concerned and so that part is not available for animation.  :-(

Oh, there's no language.dll in FS2002 BTW so I couldn't sort the other problem you tried to help me with.   :'(

But thanks for trying m8.

What about water rudder ?
As for the dll file thought it was fs2004 the good news is the same thing can be done for fs2002 just cant remeber what the file is called,Im pretty sure there is an edited ver floating around the net somwhere(maybe here or flightsim.com) for fs2002

Nope, sadly Water Rudder doesn't work either.  :-(
Cowl Flaps work in FS2002 but M$ decided helicopters don't have those either (!) so they don't work in FS9.

This leaves the tailhook, for both sims.
Good news for FS9 is that you can now incorporate XML code into your model directly which gives you a lot of extra scope but such models won't work in FS2002.

I have enhanced my FS2002 to the extent that FS9 would actually work out as a downgrade for me so I'm sticking with it, for now.
