GMAX and CFS2

???

This might sound like a stupid question, but does anyone know if aircraft and objects created in GMAX will work straight-out, in CFS2- or will they need altering.

I have a feeling its only FSDS that works with CFS2 and GMAX is for FS2002 sims onwards.

Is this true?

While you can use gmax to make CFS2 models, but I don't think the current free converters that come with the FS9 SDK can let you make good CFS2 models - I may be wrong on this.

As you can imagine, my modelling has been with FSDS.

Hi Ed. Do you wish to create these aircraft yourself?

Many of the later CFS2 aircraft were created with Gmax. Originally, this was only possible using the Gamepack included with FS2002 Pro. I haven't tried it myself but it might now be be possible to use the FS2004 Gamepack SDK. http://www.microsoft.com/games/flightsimulator/fs2004_downloads_sdk.asp

You will probably need Middleman to export in the CFS2 MDL format.

Make sure you get the correct version as 2 were originally posted.

Gmax can export CFS2 aircraft as good as FSDS since both use the same export module, the FS2002 exporter that is.
As Hagar said, use it in conjunction with middleman (and mdlcommander for more options, see link and info at the middleman site).
There are certain things to take care of from witin Gmax.
Best is to come back and ask questions once you have the above stuff installed.
