Hey guys,
Anyone know how i can change the FDE of a plane so the thing goes 90 degrees up on takeoff like a shuttle, if the is even possible.
Thanks
Mike

Completely wild idea - and you are tasked with trying it out...
Force your fuselage angle to -90 degrees, and engine type rocket - with enough thrust to overcome the model's weight.
Your gear contact points would have the same "-Z" value, with x- and y values spread around in a triangle so it doesn't tip over.
If the contact points are z,x,y:
-10,1,0
-10,0,1
-10,-1,0
-10,0,-1
would give you four contact points,
My main assumption is that the flight sim engine assumes that the fuselage angle defines the "line of thrust".

Thanks Felix,
But how can i make it a Rocket engine in the CGF?

I believe - and you'd have to check the SDKs - that engine type "3" is rocket. However, come to think of it, I don't know if it's recognized in FS2002/2004, and it's just a CFS2 thing.
If not, just make it a very powerful jet anyway

Ok, i'll make a jet with 2500lbs st more than the weight of the thing.
Ok, i tried the contact point thing on the default cessna 172, when i start a flight with it, it falls into the ground and crashes, here are the contact points:

I recall seeing (awhile back) a complete package for the shuttle Endeavor, or one of its compatriots. The full model, with the tank and boosters, started from an upright position, so I would look around and see if you can find that, then work off it.
