FS 5.1? You gotta be kidding!  ;)
I think you need B.A.O Flightshop for that fossil, But it's not sold anymore.
Unless you want to build aircraft for yourself, You should try building aircraft for the newer sims, such as FS2000, and FS2002 as I don't think many people still use FS 5.1....

				Hello Grizzlychicken,
Welcome to the forum.
Most of the guys use Gmax. It's the little brother of 3D Studio Max. You can download it for free from Discreet. You will need to register in order to use it though. Once you register, Discreet will send you an e-mail with the CD-Key.
http://www.discreet.com/products/gmax/Microsoft released a set of SDK's for FS 9 that you will need in order to create your own aircraft.
http://www.microsoft.com/games/flightsimulator/fs2004_downloads_sdk.aspAlso read this thread...

An SDK is a "Software Developers Kit"
It contains instructions for working with elements of the Flight simulator and any little programs that you need to help you compile data that the program needs.  You can download them from microsoft.

Will Gmax work with CFS1? Is there anything else I would need to make aircraft for CFS1?

No - about the only program you can use to make CFS1 model is Aircraft Factory 99 (AF99) or AD2000., both of which, I believe are out of print.

But if I recall my downloading of it - it doesn't support the older sims - just FS2002/4.
the "full" AD2000 could be used for both FS98/CFS1 and FS2000/CFS2.
