Project idea - Fokker F29

This would have been a collaboration between Boeing and Fokker.

The F29 was to have used the basic cross section of the B-737 with wing mounted podded engines, on a swept wing similar to that of the Boeing's.  Cockpit/nose profile matched that of the F28, along with the F-28's swept back T-tail, probably including teh airbrakes.  Engines would probably be equipped with thrust reversers.

(Info from Janes' 1980-81)

Why the T-tail when you have engines mounted on the wings?
Seems like a weird solution...T-tails have more drawbacks compared to the vertical fin.

Mainly - I guess - Ease of production/commonality with the F28 ...  In any event, this didn't go beyond the "design study" stage, and Fokker stretched the F28 into the F100
