Now why didn't this work?

I was trying to hollow out this engine cowling for this plane using FSDS.  I spaced out the outside cross-sections, then attempted to double back upon it on the inside to create a open space for the engine.  However, no matter how far back I go, I only get the small indentation on the front of the fuselage.  I don't know if this is the proper way of doing this, but it should work, so why not?

Pip. I suspect you have a rogue poly. Select the part & go to Poly mode (F7). Then click View/View Surface Normals. If there's a polygon there this should make it easier to see. If you find one select it & delete it. That should fix it.

Do you mean like this?

Yep, that's what I mean. I can't see one but it must be there. That's the only explanation. You might need to cycle through the polys to find it.

Two things here...

When making a tube, I always uncheck the "close front/right" I don't want automatic "end" polygons.

As for "filling in" the inside of a cowling/ fuselage, typically I'll just clone the part (okay, copy/paste) then in poly mode, select all polys and flip all polygons.

Thanks for the help guys.  Next I'll start modeling the engine...

You know what that looks like to me right now?

How's that?  I took the PW 23xx and the three bladed prop form the site you mentioned.  I modified the prop for 4 blades, and there you go!  Now comes the hard part; the cockpit.  Any suggestions there?
