Aircraft wrong scale

My latest GMAX model is behaving strangely in FS (2002).
It won't display in the aircraft file selector but loads anyway but is roughly double the size it should be!

I have tried scaling it down in GMAX and re-compiling but this has no effect.

All my other models have ended up at the correct scale.

Any ideas?

Fixed it! :D
There seems to be a 'minimum size' limit and my model, a personal Jet Pack, having no wingspan to speak off seemed to confuse FS.  The cure was to place two tiny (0.1*0.1*0.1) objects 12 feet out from the centre as virtual wingtips, give them a colour of 0,0,0 to make sure they don't show up at all and re-compile.

It worked.

Interesting.

Another suggestion (which I haven't tried) ... Instead of two small 0,0,0 objects, place two dummy points in the same location and see if that compiles the model correctly.

'Trouble is, I don't actually know enough about GMAX to know what you mean by 'dummy points'.   ???
I do all my modeling in IMAGINE (ancient Amiga program), export to DXF, import into GMAX etc.   :)

Results are good.  Biggest problem I have is realising that I don't have to actually model every nut and bolt, niether do I have to make 36 sided objects for them to be smooth...

I have at last got the polygon count down from over 80000 (my first model) to under 20000 (my latest) and my respect for those that achieve such high degrees of detail and realism without including the actual screw-theads like I do increases by the minute!

It's fun too.   :)
