aha the million dollar question ;D
the main thing is cutting windows, in FSDS it is extremely laborious, whereas in gmax you can use what is called a boolean to cut the windows.
I use fsds, but in a way i kind of wish i used gmax because it is a 'springboard' onto bigger and better things, and more complex design.

I use FSDS as well, although I am trying to learn G-max right now.
An advantage I found so far with G-max is that there are many tools and converters available for G-max , and you can save the 3-d models you create into many different formats.
There is an absolute avalanche of tools and info etc available for Gmax.
However I think FSDS is excellent for flight sim models, and I'm not thinking of giving it up just yet.
