Bad gauge resolution in vc

hi there...

i'm currently building the DVC for my 737 (;D) and most of my gauges are in place... but there is one problem. they have a very poor resolution, some of them are unreadable....

the size of my "dummy" texture is 1024x512
and pixel size is 1024x1024 (maximum?)

but the default 737 has 512x512 pixel/texture size and the gauges look great

i tried changing my pixel size to 512 and my gauges were reduced to an unrecognizable smudge

i didn't try reducing the texture size because i would have to remeasure all my gauges, and i wouldn't want to go through all that trouble on just a hunch

so what can i do to make my gauges look better?

I had a similar problem once and cured it by reducing the size of the square panel polygons. The more you reduce the size the better the quality and slower framerates.

Hope that helps.  :)

You can also use CFGEDIT to resize the gauges with.
This is really a easy task. This program show you the bitmap
that the panel uses and displays the gauges just as you would see them in fs2004. The only negative thing about cfgedit is it will not show or allow you to edit any of the XML gauges your panel might have.
The only program that will do that is FSPANEL STUDIO
Which is an extension of cfgedit.

Moach,

Have you considered that the gagues themselevs may be low res?

Have you tried mapping the default gagues to the same poly with the same texture settings and seen what happens?

Hmm. Ok. Another thing to check is wether "vc gauge quality" (in Settings->Display->Aircraft) is set to "High".
