Hi guys, downloaded a Goose anphibian and it has no wake or water landing sounds, but will land on the water. How do I add these?

Hi Dan,

For sound, the sound.cfg must be updated to add spash sounds to the Touchdown and Groundroll sections.

The wake is determined by the contact points for floats or amphibs.

EDIT: also see the Effects section of the aircraft.cfg:
wake=fx_wake
water=fx_spray

See the Cessna 208 for examples, and then jump into the SDK for details on these two items.

Hi Dan. I downloaded Mike Stone's Goose to check it out. The sound is aliased to the default Corsair. I think you would need to install some proper sound files to add the water landing sounds. It's possible another floatplane or flying boat would include them.

I can't figure out why the wake doesn't show up. I've converted many FS2000 floatplanes for FS2002 in the past with no problems. The Aircraft.cfg [EFFECTS] entry points to a fx_waterland FX file I don't have. I changed it to the default fx_spray. The spray works fine but still no wake. ???

Take a close look at the default float planes that came with FS2004 print out the sound cfg. file for this plane and your plane then just copy the nessary lines of code from one to the other. Or just change the alias to the float plane sound instead of the coursair.
  Another option that I sometimes do is just copy the entire sound folder from one aircraft to another. Make sure you replace the sound cfg file when it asks otherwise it will not work.
