What is an "endcap"

I'm working with FSDS2, and I'm allowed to name a part with the label of stock animations, keyframe animations...etc.  There is an option for aircraft endcaps. Cool, too bad I have no clue what they are or how they can be used.

I did a search and found no, nothing, none, zero, zip, zilch as far as "endcap" entries.

Could someone explain?

Thanks,

Joe

Endcaps are used for damage modelling and wingfolds.

A damage endcap would be set to show up only when a part had come off due to damage. Wingfold endcaps show when the wing is folded.

If you look at tutorials for damage modelling in CFS 2 or 3 you should find the basics.
